traci gardnerTraci Gardner is an educator and writer currently working as Online Content Developer on ReadWriteThink for the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) in Urbana, Illinois, where she writes lesson plans, designs online curricular materials, and manages the Web servers for the project.

From 1999 to Spring 2002, she served as the Online Resources Manager for NCTE, where she managed the organization's Web pages and other educational Internet resources for teachers and educators.

From 1994 to 1999, she served as the Director of Instructional Services for The Daedalus Group, in Austin, Texas, where she provided pedagogical support to writing teachers ranging from the Kindergarten to College level. Her work included software design, curriculum development, and technical support. She was a member of NCTE's Instructional Technology Committee and CCCC's Committee on Computers in Composition and Communication from 1994 through 1999.

From 1984 to 1994, Traci taught in the English Department of Virginia Tech, having the opportunity to teach everything from first-year composition to literature surveys and grammar courses for English minors and English Education majors. She has presented at numerous conferences, including CCCC, NCTE, and the Computers and Writing Conference. Her technical writing and curriculum materials have appeared in online software and related print manuals such as The Writer's Workshop and the Daedalus Integrated Writing Environment.

Traci began writing "Traci's Lists of Ten" the Summer of 1998 as part of the celebration of the Tenth Anniversary of The Daedalus Group. She has written over three dozen Lists, mainly composed of writing assignments and prewriting activities.
