Sojourn in Savannah Swaps

I printed this image on 8.5 by 11 paper and then folded it as a stapleless book. We added a mini string of pearls with the safety pin in the upper corner.

The book features a little limerick that I wrote:

All hail our dear Juliette Low!
She knew that Girl Scouting must grow.
She said, “It’s for the girls,”
Then sold her string of pearls.
What great foresight for Daisy to show!

First Headquarters in Savannah

This photo shows First Headquarters, the building which served as the very first home of Girl Scouts in the United States. The building is really the carriage house for the Andrew Low House, which takes up the rest on the block.

This is where girls first met, where adult volunteers shared ideas, and where everything that drives Girl Scouts of the United States of America all began. I visited First Headquarters in May 2012, as part of the Sojourn in Savannah.
