The original recipe used fresh chicken and vegetables, frozen tortellini, and stock. I replaced those ingredients with what I had on hand and added a bit of garlic. It was scrumptious. Next time, I&#8217;m thinking of making it, and then transferring it to the crockpot for a few hours so that the flavors deepen a bit. It&rsquo;s going to make a nice warm treat once the days get a bit chillier.<\/em><\/p>\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"ingredients\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/tengrrl\/7903165818\/\" title=\"Now with the oregano showing by tengrrl, on Flickr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8035\/7903165818_a821dc720c_m.jpg?resize=240%2C105\" alt=\"Now with the oregano showing\" width=\"240\" height=\"105\" class=\"alignright\"><\/a>12 oz bag mirepoix blend frozen vegetables (carrots, celery, and  onion)<\/li>\n<li>1 13 oz can chunk chicken breast, drained<\/li>\n<li>6 cups chicken stock (or 6 cups water and 6 chicken bouillon  cubes)<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp dried basil<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp dried oregano<\/li>\n<li>&frac12; tsp granulated garlic<\/li>\n<li>Salt and pepper, to taste<\/li>\n<li>1 8 oz bag cheese-filled tortellini <\/li>\n<li>1 8 oz jar prepared Alfredo sauce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Directions<\/h4>\n<ol class=\"instructions\">\n<li>Spray large  dutch oven or soup pot with nonstick cooking spray. <\/li>\n<li>Saute mirepoix  in olive oil until soft. <\/li>\n<li>Stir in  basil, oregano, and garlic. <\/li>\n<li>Add  canned chicken. <\/li>\n<li>Add  stock and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.<\/li>\n<li>Add tortellini and cook until tender, about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. <\/li>\n<li>Stir in  Alfredo sauce and allow to simmer 5 to 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Serve  with grated Parmesan and bacon bits garnish, if desired.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<table>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p class=\"duration\">Time Required: 30 minutes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p class=\"yield\">Servings: 4<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This warm and easy soup is my version of a recipe I found on the Kate in the Kitchen blog.
