I&rsquo;m not sure when the tradition started, but I know it cannot be Christmas until these are made and chilling in the refrigerator. So today, in honor of my Mom&rsquo;s birthday, here is her recipe for Cheese Ball, the nineteenth of my 25 Appetizers of Christmas.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"ingredients\">\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"ingredients\">\n<li>2 jars Kraft Old English Cheese or 16 oz Kakauna sharp cheese<\/li>\n<li> 4 oz. Cream Cheese (one block)<\/li>\n<li> Small container of Bleu Cheese <\/li>\n<li>Granulated Garlic <\/li>\n<li>Pecans, chopped<\/li>\n<li>Cherry <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instructions\">\n<h4>Directions<\/h4>\n<ol class=\"instructions\">\n<li>Wet a  large mixing bowl and sprinkle with granulated garlic.  <\/li>\n<li>Place cheeses in the bowl, and allow to sit and warm for about one hour.<\/li>\n<li>Once cheeses have softened, mix well.  <\/li>\n<li>Form balls and roll in chopped pecans.  <\/li>\n<li>Add a cherry to the center, top.  <\/li>\n<li>Cover and refrigerate until firm.  <\/li>\n<li>Serve on crackers (we usually use Wheat Thins) or cocktail rye bread. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"variations\">\n<a name=\"variations\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Variations<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"variations\">\n<li><span xmlns:v=\"http:\/\/rdf.data-vocabulary.org\/#\" typeof=\"v:recipe\">We have frozen these cheese balls as well.
