As the note with the recipe explains, &ldquo;Plant a forest of pita bread trees on your table in less than 30 minutes by topping wedges with store-bought guacamole.&rdquo;  Pita Tree Appetizers are the seventh of my 25 Appetizers of Christmas.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"ingredients\">\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"ingredients\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pillsbury.com\/recipes\/pita-tree-appetizers\/865bfc04-edc4-41d0-b23b-8f13ebcdf7ea\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/cooks\/images\/pitatrees.jpg\" alt=\"Pita Tree Appetizers\" width=\"213\" height=\"120\" class=\"alignright\"><\/a>4 flavored or plain pita folds or pita (pocket) breads (about 6 inches in diameter) <\/li>\n<li>16 thin pretzel sticks, halved <\/li>\n<li>&frac12; cup fat-free sour cream <\/li>\n<li>&frac12; cup guacamole <\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley <\/li>\n<li>&frac14; teaspoon garlic-pepper blend <\/li>\n<li>&frac14; cup very finely chopped red bell pepper <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instructions\">\n<h4>Directions<\/h4>\n<ol class=\"instructions\">\n<li>Cut each pita fold into 8 wedges. <\/li>\n<li>Insert pretzel stick half into center of bottom of each wedge to form &ldquo;tree trunk.&rdquo; <\/li>\n<li> In small bowl, mix sour cream, guacamole, parsley and garlic-pepper blend. <\/li>\n<li>Spread about 1 teaspoon sour cream mixture on each pita wedge. <\/li>\n<li> Blot bell pepper with paper towel to remove excess moisture. <\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle about &frac14; teaspoon bell pepper on each wedge or arrange to form a garland. <\/li>\n<li>If desired, cover and refrigerate up to 8 hours before serving.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"variations\">\n<a name=\"variations\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Variations<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"variations\">\n<li>For variety, use cilantro in place of the parsley. <\/li>\n<li>If you have time, make your own guacamole.
