For easier cutting, cover and refrigerate blondies for at least 1 hour or up to overnight before slicing into bars.&rdquo;<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"ingredients\">\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"ingredients\">\n<li>1 cup all-purpose flour <\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon baking powder <\/li>\n<li> 1\/2 teaspoon salt <\/li>\n<li> 8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature <\/li>\n<li>1 cup packed light brown sugar <\/li>\n<li>1 large egg <\/li>\n<li> 1 teaspoon vanilla extract <\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup finely chopped almonds, walnuts, pecans or mixture of nuts <\/li>\n<li>1 cup fresh raspberries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instructions\">\n<h4>Directions<\/h4>\n<ol class=\"instructions\">\n<li> Preheat oven to 350&ordm;F. <\/li>\n<li>Line an 8-inch square baking pan with heavy-duty foil, leaving at least a 1-inch overhang on all sides. <\/li>\n<li>In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. <\/li>\n<li>Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. <\/li>\n<li>Stir in brown sugar until moistened. <\/li>\n<li>Let cool slightly.<\/li>\n<li>Off heat, whisk in egg and vanilla. <\/li>\n<li>Stir in flour mixture until just combined. <\/li>\n<li>Stir in nuts. <\/li>\n<li> Scrape batter into baking pan, smoothing top with a spatula. <\/li>\n<li>Scatter berries over batter. <\/li>\n<li>Bake until blondies are set in center, about 30 minutes. <\/li>\n<li>Cool completely in pan on wire rack. <\/li>\n<li>Grasping overhanging foil on opposite sides of pan, lift out blondies and place on cutting board. <\/li>\n<li>Cut into 16 squares and serve. <br \/>\n    Note: For easier cutting, cover and refrigerate blondies for at least 1 hour before slicing into bars.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A recipe from the August 2011 issue of All You (original here).
