I have no idea why the recipe works (where is Alton Brown to explain it?), but it does. The original recipe is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodnetwork.com\/recipes\/paula-deen\/magical-peanut-butter-cookies-recipe\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">available from The Food Network<\/a>. Magical Peanut Butter Cookies are the twenty-first of my 25 Cookies of Christmas.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"ingredients\">\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"ingredients\">\n<li>1 cup peanut butter, creamy or crunchy<\/li>\n<li>1&#8531; cups Splenda<\/li>\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp vanilla extract<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instructions\">\n<h4>Directions<\/h4>\n<ol class=\"instructions\">\n<li> Preheat oven to 350&deg;F.<\/li>\n<li>Spray cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray.<\/li>\n<li>Mix peanut butter, 1 cup Splenda, egg, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl, combining completely.<\/li>\n<li>Roll the dough in your hands, into about 1&#8243; balls.<\/li>\n<li>Place on cookie sheet.<\/li>\n<li>Dip fork in remaining Splenda, and press on balls to create criss-cross design.<\/li>\n<li>Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
