This crockpot version is for you! <\/p>\n<p>It has the same taste, but relies on  shredded cabbage from the produce section of your grocery store. Serve the finished dish with a side of mashed potatoes. <\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"ingredients\">\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"ingredients\">\n<li>2 lb ground beef<\/li>\n<li>1 onion, chopped (1\/2 cup)<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon salt <\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon pepper <\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup water <\/li>\n<li>1 bag shredded cabbage <\/li>\n<li>1 \tcup uncooked instant rice    <\/li>\n<li>2 to 3  \tcans (15 ounces) stewed tomatoes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instructions\">\n<h4>Directions<\/h4>\n<ol class=\"instructions\">\n<li>Spray crockpot with nonstick cooking spray. <\/li>\n<li>Turn crockpot on to low.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"instruction\"> Brown ground beef and onion in a medium skillet, breaking up the meat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Season with salt and pepper to taste. <\/li>\n<li>When meat is browned, pour water into pan and reduce heat to low. <\/li>\n<li>If desired, chop stewed tomatoes in blender or food processor.<\/li>\n<li>Pour tomatoes into prepared crockpot.<\/li>\n<li>Stir in instant rice. <\/li>\n<li>Add shredded cabbage and pour ground beef mixture on top of cabbage.<\/li>\n<li>Stir to combine ingredients well.
