It&#8217;s one of those meals that sits in the crockpot on the kitchen counter taunting you all day long.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n A definite treat for a cool fall or winter day, the soup can be easily modified to your tastes&#8212;just add or remove any of the ingredients. Because several family members have difficulty with spicy foods, for instance, we modified the recipe to make it a bit less spicy than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodnetwork.com\/recipes\/paula-deen\/taco-soup-recipe.html\"  target=\"_blank\">Paula Deen&#8217;s original recipe<\/a>. This is how we serve it at our house.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"ingredients\">\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"ingredients\">\n<li>3 lbs ground beef <\/li>\n<li>2 cups diced onions <\/li>\n<li>1 (15 1\/2-oz) can pinto beans <\/li>\n<li>1 (15 1\/2-oz) can red kidney beans <\/li>\n<li>1 (15 1\/2-oz) can black beans <\/li>\n<li>1 (15 1\/4-oz) can whole kernel corn, drained <\/li>\n<li>1 (15 1\/4-oz) can white corn, drained<\/li>\n<li>1 (14 1\/2-oz) can stewed tomatoes <\/li>\n<li>1 (14 1\/2-oz) can diced tomatoes <\/li>\n<li>2 (4 1\/2-oz) cans  green chiles, diced with no seeds <\/li>\n<li>1 (4.6-oz) can black olives, drained and sliced<\/li>\n<li>1 (1 1\/4-oz) package taco seasoning mix <\/li>\n<li>1 (1-oz) package ranch salad dressing mix <\/li>\n<li>Corn chips<\/li>\n<li>Sour cream<\/li>\n<li>Grated cheese<\/li>\n<li>Chopped green onions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instructions\">\n<h4>Directions<\/h4>\n<ol class=\"instructions\">\n<li>Brown the ground beef and onions in a  skillet. Season with salt and pepper.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer the browned beef and onions to a large slow cooker or a stockpot. <\/li>\n<li>Add the beans, corn, tomatoes, green chiles, black olives, green olives, taco seasoning, and ranch dressing mix.<\/li>\n<li>Cook in a slow cooker on low for 6 to 8 hours or simmer over low heat for about 1 hour in a pot on the stove. <\/li>\n<li>Garnish bowls with corn chips,  sour cream, cheese, and green onions.
