In Memoriam: A Fallen Tamagotchi Posted March 18, 2001, 9:51 PM Lockhart the Tamagotchi, also known as Tammy Goat Cheese died at 12:56 PM, Saturday, March 17. Tammy is survived by 3 sibling Tamagotchis of unknown gender, a Pentium Pro, and the Crumpets. Tammy's owner, a Mr. Eric Crump of Champaign, Illinois, explained, "The thing just got more and more demanding as it grew older and older. I checked it before we began packing up the Technology Center at the CCCC Convention and all was fine. When we finished packing and moving the resources to my hotel room, I found that she was a dead Tamagotchi." The family will hold a private ceremony in Tammy's home, in Champaign, Illinois, on Tuesday, March 20th. An online memorial service will be held in the NCTE MOO, Friday, March 23rd, at 8:00 PM Central time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the 2001 Computers and Writing Conference Graduate Student Scholarship Fund.
