I seem to be stuck on pumpkins recently. When I looked at this week’s Stampin’ Queens Sketch Challenge (SQSC49), I thought about the pumpkin faces that I used in my photo booth swap. The card was easy to create after that inspiration. Here’s this week’s original sketch:

And here’s my version of the card:

To make the detail on the pumpkins, I stacked and resized wide oval punches with a thin mat in the lighter orange color (picked from the background) to give the impression of the grooves on the pumpkins. Here are the resources that I used to make the card:
- Background: Cast a Spell – Pattern 3
- Stamps:
- Pumpkin Patch – element 1, element 3, face 1, face 2, and face 3
- Holiday Blitz – pumpkin face
- Square Punch, stretched to rectangles, in Basic Black and in Perfect Plum with 2 pt mat in Basic Black
- Wide Oval Punch in Pumpkin Pie, with 2 pt mat picked from background (from the spiders)

After playing around with several options, I ultimately rotated this week’s Stampin’ Queens Sketch Challenge (SQSC38) and then modified the design elements slightly. Here’s this week’s original sketch:

And here’s my version of the card:

I substituted the tree branch for the vertical, rectangle punch in the original, and I’ve substituted the owl for the focal circle punch element. It’s not quite the same as the original, but I think it’s close enough. Here are the details on how I made it:
- Background Layer: On the Go—Pattern 11
- Middle Layer: Soft Suede
- Top Layer:On the Go—Pattern 12
- Owl: Two Step Owl in More Mustard, Tangerine Tango, and Whisper White
- Stamps:
- Punch Bunch—Owl (on top of punch pieces, from the 2011 SAB)
- Cheep Talk—Branch (part of the original install)
- Sentiment: So Typefelt—Wisdom Is Better Than Knowledge, on an Pool Party Rectangle Punch

When I looked at this week’s Stampin’ Queens Sketch Challenge (SQSC34), I immediately thought of a window or door. My card is from the perspective of someone looking out the window from inside the house. The Irish Prayer that I found gave me the perfect verse to highlight on the outside. Here’s this week’s original sketch:

And here’s my version of the card:

Here are the details on how I made it:
- Background Layer: Certainly Celery (picked from the center of the flower)
- Middle Layer and Crossbar: Close to Cocoa
- Top Layer: Play Date—Pattern 1
- Stamp: On the Go Digital Kit—Sun, in So Saffron (picked from the flowers)
- Circle Punch in Small Polka Dot—So Saffron placed over the center of the sun to make it blend with the look of the flowers
- Embellishments: Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware—Rectangle
- Sentiment: Text in the font Lucida Bright in Close to Cocoa on a Very Vanilla Oval Punch over a Close to Cocoa Oval Punch. The bottom oval has the default drop shadow.
Inside sentiment shows the entire poem, which is labeled as either anonymous or as an Irish prayer on various sites online. Here’s the full piece, which the line on the front came from:
May there always be work for your hands to do;
May your purse always hold a coin or two;
May the sun always shine on your window pane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;
May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

I struggled a bit with this week’s Stampin’ Queens Sketch Challenge (SQSC33). Nothing I tried worked, so I looked through my Likes on the My Digital Studio site, and suddenly I had it figured out. Here’s this week’s original sketch:

And here’s my version of the card:

The pansy design was taken from Marian Kay’s Pansy Butterfly. Hard to believe those pretty pansies were made from the butterfly punch! The color effect is made using Drop Shadows, similar to what is demonstrated in the Adding color using drop shadows video by Cindy Schuster. Here is the details:
- Background Layer: Big Top Birthday—Paper 4
- Pansies: Overlapping and rotated Butterfly Punches, in this order and color:
- Large, back butterfly in Wisteria Wonder
- Medium, middle butterfly made with drop shadow set at 100% Opacity and Full Blur in Concord Crush
- Small, top butterfly made with drop shadow set at 100% Opacity and Full Blur in Summer Sun
- Daffodil Delight Brad in the top center
- Embellishments:
- Grosgrain Ribbon—bow in Wisteria Wonder
- Grosgrain Ribbon in Wisteria Wonder
